Newsletter May (15)

Updated: May 25, 2019

Dear Members,

May has started well, and this weekend the course was buzzing with a Charity Day on Friday and the Captain's Drive-In on Sun 12th May, when we welcomed Rob Noble to the start of his year of captaincy.

The sun was shining and the day saw lots of support from members - please email us any photos so that we can put them up on the website.

After an 18 hole shotgun start, everyone enjoyed traditional fish and chips out on the terrace. A big thank you and well done to our outgoing captain Clive Atwell who 3 putted out after lunch then drove a nice shot . . . into the lake on the 9th!!!

Following the work done on the greens last month we had lots of positive feedback about the course from visitors to the course over the weekend.

As requested, we've put together more competitions (eg an evening competition Tues 21st May) which has been met with a very encouraging response.

The website is growing in content so keep an eye on the website calendar for a full list of forthcoming matches, society days and charity days throughout the year. Please let us know if there are any dates we've missed.

TEAMS

Golf teams playing home and away matches, it would be great if you could email us your results and a brief description to golf@golfschool.co.uk so we can report it in the newsletter. Photos are much appreciated too!

GROUP COACHING & EVENING CLASSES

CONGRATULATIONS to our PGA Pro Tom North who has passed his PGA Advanced Diploma, so he's looking forward to using his new skills! Meanwhile, Tom's group coaching is continuing to grow and progress, with a number of happy participants becoming new members last month.

Tom is now running three evening classes and one short game, more specialised class.

Youngsters are key to our ongoing success as a family-friendly Club so it's important to raise awareness in local schools. We are visiting Buckswood school on Tuesday afternoon for a 'Taster Session' promoting Sedlescombe Golf Club and the Golf School and to attract pupils to the golf academy sessions we run at Sedlescombe. Tom North will also be meeting some of the parents and teachers.
