Course is in top condition
Never thought I'd be saying it, but after a fabulous run of summer sunshine it's good to have some rain at last. The course at Sedlescombe is still in excellent condition prompting glowing compliments from visitors from other clubs who are impressed with our facilities.
German Golfing Visitors - Friday 14th June
As a follow up to the Seniors captain email yesterday we have a group of visitors coming over from Germany next week. They are keen to play a match with the Seniors and ladies so we have arranged a competition which will be taking place on Friday 14th June.
The format will be Four-Ball better ball and the Tee times are from 9.28am
23 of the visitors are looking to play The competition will be followed by a lunch of Roast Dinner and Strawberry trifle at £12.50 per head.
Those who would like to play, please sign up on the cork-board in the bar, or let Sam know via email email@example.com
NB: If we are oversubscribed we will draw the names from a hat.
Bistro on the Green
The restaurant has been going from strength to strength and Rob's watering has got the lavender and hanging baskets off to a great start, promising a beautiful view from the terrace for the summer months. Despite the perennial problem of finding good summer staff before the students break up, Olivia, Georgie, Ella and the rest of the team have been doing a terrific job to keep up with demand. Our new bar/restaurant staff have now started , but please bear with us whilst we bring them up to speed!
Our new Sedlescombe Golf Club caps have been selling like hotcakes so we have a new order arriving soon.
This week's great offer:
Callaway Super Soft 15 ball pack £19.99
Daily Mail Foursomes
Congratulations to our Pink Ladies (Lizzie Turnbull and Sue McGavin) who are representing us in the Daily Mail Foursomes who have just reached the fourth round of this national competition! Watch out for them at Sedlescombe this Sunday when they'll be up against Eastbourne Downs Golf Club.

29th May : Seniors vs. Wellshurst (home) 6-0
29th May : Ladies' Invitation Day - Sue McGavin & Marion Gatland won with 39 points
30th May : Midweek Stableford - Pat Martin won with 30 points
31st May : Ladies Division 2 vs. Highwoods (away) halved 3.5 to 3.5
Having read the contracts I'm just not comfortable with the conditions, so I have pulled us out of the programme. The producer wrote a very nice email, saying that Sedlescombe would be a "breath of fresh air" on the programme, so whilst I don't rule it out sometime in the future, for the moment I feel it's best not to take part so the Restaurant and Spike Bar will be open as usual tomorrow (Tuesday 4th June).
Car Park Walls
Dean and Rob have been doing a sterling job in the heat, re-building the car park walls. It's a laborious job, so please take care not to nudge the walls in your excitement to get onto the course!
