Channel 4 coming to Sedlescombe Golf Club

Having read the contracts I'm just not comfortable with the conditions, so I have pulled us out of the programme. The producer wrote a very nice email, saying that Sedlescombe would be a "breath of fresh air" on the programme, so whilst I don't rule it out sometime in the future, for the moment I feel it's best not to take part.

Encouraging young players :

Youngsters are key to our ongoing success so it's important to raise awareness in local schools. Last week we visited Buckswood School for a 'Taster Session', giving pupils the opportunity to try golf for the first time using our specially designed beginners' equipement. The session included a putting game and target practice using irons. We generated a real buzz around the school with parents and teachers coming to watch.

Tony Parris

As many of you are aware, the course at Sedlescombe is playing better than ever this year, so much so that it has come to the attention of the management of Rye Golf Club who have enlisted the services of our wonderful head green-keeper Tony Parris. Tony has been with us for many years and whilst it is a huge feather in his cap to be asked to work at Rye, as the creator of the Par 3 course, he is keen to keep an eye on things here at Sedlescombe so he will still be advising our green-keeping team on a weekly basis.

New Irrigation System

To maintain our reputation as one of the top courses in the area, we continue to strive to improve our facilities, so I am currently looking at updating our irrigation system. This will be a major investment, but will be well worth it in the long run.

Piece of Cake!

We are introducing a complimentary coffee or tea with a slice of cake for our members on their birthday. This offer can only be used once and on the actual date of the person's birthday.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend!

With best wishes from all of us at Sedlescombe
