ABOUT

THE COURSE

18 hole & 9 HOLE

THE COURSE

Golf School UK is based at Sedlescombe Golf Club and incorporates an 18-hole (par 72) ‘ Great Wood’ course as well as a 9 hole par 3 ‘Little Wood’ course.

Both courses nestle within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the heart of 1066 country, and are surrounded by Battle Great Wood. With a number of feature holes based around stunning woodland, lakes and ponds, the 27 holes blend perfecting into their

natural surroundings.

18 hole (PAR 72)

The picturesque 18-hole course is the perfect environment to progress your game, whatever your ability level. The lakes, ponds, bunkers and woodland on the 6,269 yard, par 72 course offer a challenge to the scratch golfer, whilst the average golfer will enjoy a variety of long and short par 4’s in one of the prettiest corners of England.

The opening hole is one of the toughest par 4′s on the course measuring 419 yards, playing straight into the predominant wind with bunkers and a water hazard surrounding the green.

Two par 5′s back to back, the 4th and 5th are a good opportunity for birdies. These holes are followed by a tough stretch of par 4 fours including the 6th, 8th and 9th all measuring near to or over 400 yards. The 9th is the signature hole. It plays downhill with a dogleg to the left. Two ponds protect the green with any short approach shots ending up in the water.

The back nine is more about accuracy than power. It only measures 2,839 yards but there is little opportunity for the driver as narrow fairways and small greens mean any wayward shots will be punished. The course ends with a risk and reward par 5. At 492 yards it is well in range of two shots for the big hitters. However with out of bounds down both sides, it is a risky play with a driver.

9 HOLE (PAR 3)

The back nine holes offers a different challenge entirely, with a variety of interesting holes ranging in length from 90 – 180 yards.

This Par 3 course is a real challenge with narrow fairways and smaller contoured greens offering some protection from the big hitters. The exciting mix of risk and reward holes include tricky par 3's, drivable par 4's and the long downhill par 5 (18th) with out of bounds posts protecting either side of the narrow fairway. The signature (15th) and stroke index 1 (16th) are played around no less than four ponds, placing a premium on straight hitting.

Golf School UK students benefit from free access to both courses during their stay. Ideal if you are with us for a half day school as the other half of your day can be spent out on the course, practising new techniques.

video analysis

ABOUT

INTRO

All golf schools make use of our two-bay video swing analysis centre. This indoor system uses the latest GASP software combined with studio quality lighting, allowing cameras to record your swing from different angles. Your golf swing will be broken down allowing the professional to analyse all aspects and highlight areas for improvement.

HOW IT WORKS

Actually seeing yourself striking the ball in slow motion helps you to understand the mechanics of your swing, and the professional can highlight the good areas of your swing, and those areas which require improvement.

All of our PGA Professionals have the ability and experience to improve your game during our 2-5 days courses, which are standardized to ability.

ANALYSIS

In addition all videos created during your time on the course will be individually analysed where they will then make their comments following on from the coaching. These are then uploaded to our Online coaching portal where you are able to access them on a number of devices.

GOLF SIMULATOR

GC2

GOLF SIMULATOR

The Foresight GC2 Simulator is used by some of the world’s best players to fine tune their game, and leading club manufacturers for research and development. Sky Sports even have the GC2 running their Shot Centre, and now you too can use the GC2 to improve your game at Golf School UK.

stereoscopic camera

HOW IT WORKS

The GC2 uses a stereoscopic camera system that precisely captures and analyses ball characteristics at the most critical point of measurement – club impact. This creates unprecedented accuracy and performance enhancing analysis that really matters.

The GC2 has two uses; as a custom fitting tool as well as a golf simulator. The technology enables teaching and club fitting to be taken to a whole new level whilst being tailored to suit everyone from beginner to advanced players.

SIMULATION

WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOU

The golf simulation mode delivers an incredible golf simulation experience by reproducing some of the world’s most challenging and visually stunning courses. Ball characteristics will be precisely captured and analysed to deliver the most accurate values of ball flight performance available, resulting in the perfect platform for realistic indoor golf. You will instantly be able to see the improvements as you adjust your swing technique, which combined with video analysis during a tuition school provides an unsurpassable golf instruction experience giving you instant technique feedback through ball flight and video playback of the swing.

The fitting mode feature provides a comprehensive virtual depiction of launch condition, shot shape and down range values – all in real time, as well as displaying ball flight for that perfect fit. Shot dispersion and gap analysis of yardage from club to club can be reviewed to provide a club fitting experience like never before.
