Please could the club consider adopting the '3 colour flag system' on the greens? For example white if the hole is at the front of the green, yellow in the middle and red if the hole is at the back. Many other clubs do this, and is much better than the moveable ball on the flagstick we have had in the past, as the ball would move when the flagstick was replaced.
This would improve the experience for members and guests alike.

James, I agree that this is a sensible suggestion. I'm guessing that it can be implemented relatively quickly and at a relatively small cost.

After looking into it placement markers seam the best option as new-comers like the red and yellow flags representing front and back nines.
Thank you for the suggestion and these have been ordered.

can we have a rethink on the flag indicators, i have no problem with the "balls" on the flag. IF they were coloured.
The problem is that if you cannot see the base of the flag, you cannot gauge which position the "balls" are and therefore
the location of the hole on the green.
thanks

hi gdb its good to have balls or diffrent colour flags for pin locations. have you ever thought of investing in a range finder or gps system i own a range finder and i find they are worth there weight in gold espically at other courses i still work yardges out but it gives you a second chance if you work it out wrong or not sure how far !!! .

hi paul, i've got a gps, and you are right they are great.
the reason i posted is the marker balls on the flags are difficult to read when you cannot see the base of the flags like many of the greens at sedlescombe. also, some of the balls are placed incorrectly. i just think 3 different coloured flags relating to the hole position would speed up play and possibly improve scores as well.

One advantage of the layout of sed golf course, which sometimes leaves you feeliing you should've worn a hard hat rather than a branded golf cap,is the close proximity of the holes.

With the exception of 1,2,3,15 and 18 you can see exactly where every pin is throughout the course of your round. 18 and 2 are pretty visible as you play the hole, 3 is front tier or back tier and 15 you should always aim for the front of the green anyway which only leaves the first and to be honest if my 3rd shot of the round is a putt i don't mind if its 5 foot or 50 foot..

Simples! Works for me.
