Our there any plans to rope off certain areas of the course to protect them over the coming winter.
The area just short of the 5th green on the left adjacent to the path is already well on its way to becoming a mud patch , this area is always very patchy throughout the year, but maybe if it was protected for the next 5 months it might improve.
The 6th tee obviously struggles with growth and again is already looking very warn and muddy, given that there is a tee mat to be used why not use it for the next 5 months? One tee mat is a small price to pay for a nice looking tee next season(and i might actually be able to carry the ditch from the mat).

Well said Mick. I know the approach to the 12th green is already protected and it needs to be, but the sixth tee does suffer as well since it gets no sun. I too would not object to using the mat on the sixth tee if it helped to protect the grass. And yes, I could clear the ditch from there (the first one, obviously).

I know i'm a complete pain in the butt and my days at sedlescombe may well be numbered and that this post will probably remain unanswered, but why oh why aren't certain areas of the course roped off?? There are at least half a dozen integral parts of the course which are now complete mud-baths which won't recover for many a moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi mick. which bits were you thinking of. i find there are certain areas which are getting torn up that really dont need to be with a bit of common sense. such as the bank between the 3rd and 4th! theres even a path... have you talked to tony about it? he seems pretty chilled out, and would probably give you either a good reason why he cant do it or he may even even do it

Hi Mick
Which areas of the course do you feel need the most attention?
