Firstly i would like to congratulate Chris Cotton and Adam Skelton on becoming the new scratch and nett champions respectively, they both played some excellent golf and Sedlescombe Golf Club has two worthy champions, well done to both players.

Not withstanding the great golf played by the 2 winners and to a lesser extent the players who pushed them all the way the day was a complete organisational balls up and was the most shambolic competition i have ever played in and was symptomatic of the way that the membership side of the golf club is treated/run by the powers(or not depending on your point of view) that be! From start to finish the day was littered with amateuristic cock-ups of the highest order. ROLL ON NEXT YEAR..................NOT

Mick
As I am "the powers that be" I presume you are referring to me?
I would like to hear your views on why the day was shambolic and why it is symptomatic of the way that the membership side of the golf club is treated/run.
This can be done in person, e-mail or through the forum.

I am disappointed I have had no reply as things cannot improve without communication...

If anyone else has a view please share it.

Hi James
I think it might be me that Mick is referring to but you are aware of the situation and reasons for Micks comments, I do not think I need to elaborate further.

hi all in my view there was a few of things wrong with this years club championship
the 1st one was it was over 1 day again which annoys me very much i am 100% postive 36 holes of medal play in one day does not show my true golf game its very hard mentally and physical fitness is a big part by the end i was losing feel and touch with all shots and hands slipping off grips etc i am only 29 yrs old and see why all the seniors seemed to snub the event with turn out of 40 people for the biggest comp of the year is very poor standard. i was also unsure of the rules of turning up on the day and just playing when your name had to be on the entry form a few days before so the draw could be done.

the next thing was i do not agree with doing the playoff while other people were still on the course playing the 2nd round there was no reason for this bad light was not an issue it would have been nice to see 30 to 40 people watching a playoff with a beer in there hand to create a great atmosphere .

any way well done to chris cotton unlucky to lewis tiltman they should be very proud of how they conducted there self's throughout the day . :D :D
